Fremont, California - November 1, 2004 - Hurricane Electric, a leading Technical Service
host "Intermediate Perl," the second seminar in a two part series on Perl
Programming. "Intermediate Perl," being held on November 20, 2004, will pick up
where "Learning Perl," the first seminar in the series, left off and will focus on a more
advanced study of Perl.
Randal L. Schwartz, twenty-year veteran of the software industry and renowned O'Reilly author of numerous books including Learning Perl and Programming Perl, is returning after successfully leading "Learning Perl" last month. Schwartz will lead another comprehensive seminar, this time focusing on a more advanced study of Perl. "Intermediate Perl" is designed for people who have completed the "Learning Perl" seminar or those who have a good background in the basics of Perl. The seminar will cover advanced data structures in Perl, which will help participants identify the appropriate data structure that can greatly simplify development and maintenance of programs. It will also show participants how to keep their Perl program running smoothly even when it must grow past the 100-lines- of-code barrier.
"Perl has become very popular for programming; it is the language of choice in web development. This is seminar is an excellent opportunity to learn more advanced Perl programming or sharpen your Perl. And, who better to learn Perl from than Schwartz," said Mike Leber, Hurricane Electric president.
Seminar participants will receive a free month of colocation at Hurricane Electric's Fremont facility for their participation in the seminar. They will also receive a free copy of Randal L. Schwartz's popular O'Reilly Alpaca book, Learning Perl Objectives, References and Modules, and a current edition of the Linux Journal Magazine.
